Growing up, caramel apples were always a fall tradition in my family. But as I grew older and started making more plant-based meals, I wanted a dessert that captured the same flavors but in a more elegant form. This tart combines the best of both worlds—caramel apples and pie—without the hassle of making a pie crust.
This vegan caramel apple tart is the epitome of fall desserts. Thinly sliced apples are layered over a flaky pastry crust and drizzled with a homemade vegan caramel sauce.
You can substitute the puff pastry with a shortcrust pastry if preferred.
Add a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream on top for an extra treat.
